Many people forget that Transylvania and medieval times are not fiction. Traveling to Transylvanian cities to tour the gothic castles and cathedrals is entirely worth your time. It will be a trip you will remember for a lifetime. Forget about the European cities that look just like the next and drive into the 14th Century Transylvania for an exciting adventure.

These castles are unique to all the castles in Europe. The most well-known, Bran Castle, is considered Dracula-s Castle. The architecture and surrounding forest will keep your frame of mind in another time. The feeling that looms in the air, combined with the blanket of the forest and powerful gothic architecture, will leave you with a sense that something very ominous occurred in those parts centuries ago.

Several guided tours are available in the area. You could spend a week traveling around to various cities, walking through villages, and seeing castles. Some castles will even allow you to stay on site. These are not for monetarily constrained travelers, of course. If you have always been fascinated by this time period and the legends, you will not be disappointed. If you have never really thought about Transylvania much, you will be pleasantly surprised.
